How much does med spa insurance cost?
Med spa insurance is priced per practice, and the premium is driven by four things: your revenue, how many providers you have and what their credentials are, the treatments you offer, and your claims history. There is no meaningful flat rate — two med spas in the same city can pay very different premiums for the same coverage lines. Medica Risk is a specialty insurance agency licensed in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho; the sections below explain what moves the number and why quotes differ, so you can read your own quotes with clear eyes.
Why do quotes for the same med spa differ between carriers?
Because carriers don’t price the same risk the same way. Each carrier has an appetite — the practice profiles it wants — and prices aggressively inside it while surcharging or declining outside it. Rating formulas weigh the factors above differently, and minimum premiums differ, which matters most for newer and smaller practices.
The detail that matters more than the price: quotes also differ in what they cover. A cheaper quote often gets cheaper through exclusions, sublimits, or a narrower definition of who counts as an insured. Part of our job is putting quotes side by side and showing you what each one actually buys, not just what each one costs.
Can a med spa lower its insurance cost?
The levers we see work: keep treatment protocols and consent forms current and documented, credential and supervise providers the way your state requires, report revenue accurately rather than padding the estimate, and revisit limits and deductibles as the practice matures. None of these are magic — but underwriters price what they can verify, and a well-documented practice reads as a better risk.
Why don’t we publish a price range?
Any dollar range published without real placement data behind it is a guess, and rating varies enough between practices that a guess misleads more than it helps. We would rather give you a real number: a quote priced on your revenue, your providers, and your services, from carriers that actually write aesthetic medicine in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
